Dothan, Alabama, known as the Peanut Center of the World, appreciates the peanut.  It's the area's leading cash crop.  Visitor's can examine this giant peanut at the Dothan Area Convention Center and Visitor's Bureau where the welcome mat is always out. The first rocket to put humans on the moon was built in Alabama and Huntsville is known as the Rocket Capital of the World.

Jackson  

Lake Eufaula, the Big Bass Capital of the World.  Lake Eufaula is a 45,181-acre reservoir located on the Chattahoochee River along the border of Alabama and Georgia.   This US Army Corps of Engineers reservoir stretches from Phoenix City, Alabama, to the Walter F. George Dam at Ft. Gaines, Georgia.  Eufaula National Wildlife Refuge, an 11,160-acre refuge on the edge of Lake Eufaula, provides excellent opportunities for public boating, fishing, hunting, hiking, and wildlife viewing.  

Lake Weiss, Crappie Capital of the World.

Russell Cave National Monument is an archeological treasure containing evidence as to how prehistoric Indians lived in the Southeast for almost 10,000 years. Virtually, no other place in the region holds such a rich record offering clues to how prehistoric Indians fed, clothed and protected themselves.

Thomasville  

Union Springs, Bird Dog Field Trial Capital of the WorldUnion Springs, bird dog field trial capital of the world.   Bullock County.  Held annually every February, Union Springs hosts the prestigious Bird Dog Field Trials, a competition to display a bird dog's ability to successfully point out the hiding places of quail.  While riding on horseback, dog handlers, judges, officials and a gallery of spectators follow the dogs that run along designated courses.  It is permissible to follow on foot or horse-drawn wagon. Motorized vehicles are not allowed.
