State of New Hampshire

This amazing drive through the White Mountains of New Hampshire has a gorgeous vista at every turn, oodles and oodles of family vacation fun, and a visit to the home of the world wind speed record.

New Hampshire's parklands provide a variety of recreational opportunities for all ages and abilities. A day at the ocean or lake swimming and picnicking is a great way to spend a summer's day. Hiking and biking on the miles of woodland trails lets you discover these recreation lands. Campgrounds provide a base for families to explore the park and the local area. In the winter, snowmobiling, cross-country and alpine skiing provide a way to get out and enjoy our crisp winter season. New Hampshire State Parks offer year-round recreation fun for the whole family!

New Hampshire is a destination with the highest mountain in the east, hundreds of lakes, historic villages, traditional crafts, lively cities, a public seashore, and insights in our nation¹s past. And, all this is a quick drive away from one third of the US population.   Click HERE for a view of the Seasons.

Glen Ellis Falls on Rt. 16 in New Hampshire.  The eastern section of the highway follows the Swift River which cuts an interesting rocky gorge through the hills. One part of this rocky gorge has been helpfully named "Rocky Gorge" by the National Park Service.
